20 freaken 10!

Ok so the whole city is up an about in arms as the hours get closer to Friday 4th of December 2009. As it is a day that places Cape Town and SA on a certain map that will be recognized by the world.

This too me is already problem number …… cant seem to recall, but my problem with this first week of December 2009 is that Cape Town Has been buzzing with a fleeting sense of unity hospitality and an all round happy-go-lucky kind of spirit. As a small time writer I am supposed to be happy about this. As it should give me a lots of topics to talk about and lots of angles to display my so-called creative writing skills..

I am not to keen. As I was saying “Fleeting” sense of unity and all other aspects, I feel that it is all a bit “Fake”, fact is (ill start with this city council) lots of tax payers money has been used to make this Long street/FIFA draw festival happen (and don’t go saying FIFA paid for it, that’s bullshit and we all know it!), you see if you had gone into town in this week you would have had to deal with road closures, busy city and construction sighs every where. That would have delayed your appointments by at least and hour, if you didn’t know about them, them comes the parking.. UTTER CRAP! No place was parker friendly and to make it worse this City is supposed to be looking out for its people.

I wont mention the Fact that this very own City plans to remove CTV from the airwaves and television, as it claims that the city does not have money to support this community channel and that the best channel to have is some silly ass cell phone TV, as I said I will not even mention that so just know I didn’t talk about it.

This might pass as some anger statement (Blog) and whatever but all I am saying is that I have been frustrated with the city for a full week as it has neglected the people that make it what it is for so long with a lame-ass excuse, that the city has not been properly funded by the Gov’ to deal with bread and butter issues and that they are trying their best to make due with what they have, (BULLSHIT if you ask me), because now it is throwing around cash for a draw that didn’t need to be so Lavish….

Just think, while we are out celebrating and the city is being hospitable to the FIFA suits and so-called dignitaries adorning our city with their ever so regal asses, A Homeless shelter will be shut down later, while the city is basking in Fleeting festivities and the SABC is having a ball as the main media ass-kisser to the government, CTV is pending a shut down because The City CAN NOT AFFORD TO HAVE IT broadcasting…
